The acquisition adds voice agents to MYLE, extending AI across the patient journey
Montreal, October 13, 2026 — MEDFAR, the Canadian healthcare technology company behind the electronic medical record (EMR) MYLE, has acquired AlloMia, a developer of AI conversational agents that handle patient calls on behalf of a clinic’s front desk. This transaction marks MEDFAR’s second AI technology acquisition in under two years and adds a fourth AI capability to MYLE, as the company works to bring AI to the heart of every clinical workflow to absorb more of the administrative workload.
“Healthcare teams need more than a place to store information. They need intelligent technology that can understand what is happening, take action and help them move faster,” said Elias Farah, President of MEDFAR. “Our vision has always been to transform the way healthcare is delivered through technological innovation. With the acquisition of AlloMia, we are taking another significant step toward that vision, integrating AI across the entire patient journey, from the phone call that starts the interaction to the clinical work that happens in the exam room and everything that follows.”
Bringing intelligence to the front door of the clinic
In most clinics, the phone is still one of the busiest points of contact between patients and their care teams. Clinics can handle thousands of calls each week, requiring staff to manage spikes in call volume while caring for patients in front of them and keeping up with paperwork. The result can be long hold times, missed calls, no-shows and frustrated patients.
AlloMia’s voice agent answers calls instantly, handles patient requests, books appointments directly into the clinic’s schedule, and directs each caller to the right resource. With AI voice agents available 24/7, patients experience zero wait time while staff are free to focus on patients and on work that requires human judgement.
AlloMia has been piloted with a group of MYLE clinics since March 2026. In the most recently onboarded clinics, about 50% of calls are handled from start to finish by the agent, with no transfer to reception. This means more than half of the phone workload can already be handled without human intervention, with further potential as the technology continues to evolve.
“Nobody chooses a career in healthcare to spend their day answering a ringing phone. The people at the front desk, just like the physicians and nurses behind them, are there to care for people. They give more of themselves every day than any system should ask,” said Sitech Lim, Co-founder and CEO of AlloMia. “We built AlloMia to take away some of that administrative burden, giving healthcare teams more time and energy to focus on what technology can never replace: the human side of care.”
One platform, intelligence built in at every step
AI Call Agent joins the AI capabilities already built directly into MYLE, rather than operating as a separate tool. This means AI works within the system healthcare teams already use:
- AI Scribe captures clinical conversations and generates documentation directly within the physician’s workflow.
- AI Form-Filling uses available information to complete clinical forms, turning a process that can take several minutes into a quick review and confirmation.
- AI Indexing organizes and processes incoming clinical documents, reducing manual sorting and eliminating file queues that slow down administrative workflows.
- AI Call Agent answers patient calls instantly, handles requests and books appointments directly into the clinic’s scheduling system.
“The opportunity is not simply to add AI to an EMR. It is to rethink what an EMR can do when intelligence is embedded throughout the platform,” said Patrick Issid, Chief of R&D and Innovation. “Our built-in AI Scribe, AI Form-Filling, AI Indexing and now AI Call Agent each address a different point of friction. Together, they transform MYLE to a system that doesn’t just record what happens in healthcare, but actively helps healthcare teams act on information and move work forward.”
The AlloMia team has joined MEDFAR, bringing expertise in large language models, AI development and AI agent experience design. Their addition strengthens MEDFAR’s AI capabilities and accelerates the integration of intelligent solutions across MYLE.
MEDFAR now offers AlloMia to all MYLE clinics. The agent also integrates with the Plexia and Medgen EMRs, so clinics on those systems can adopt it as well.
